Be Fundable: Phase Two – Join our Fundraising Readiness Cohort

By Maddy Gazzard
Research and Insights Opportunity for Charities
In September, we were delighted to publish our free research report, Be Fundable: Bridging the Gaps Between Charities and Funders, which provides detailed insights into what funders are looking at – and for – when making funding decisions.
We have been overwhelmed by the supportive response from the sector, with hundreds of downloads and thoughtful reflections on the findings, which draw upon generous contributions from 67 funders who bring more than 330 years of experience.
It is clear from the research that fundraising cannot rest on the shoulders of fundraisers alone; there is a need for whole charity teams – including trustees, leaders, delivery teams and those operating behind the scenes – to make a collective commitment to effectively presenting an organisation that is well-led and making a difference.
This resonates with my experience as a fundraiser, and during the project, I was keen to find practical ways of making the most of the findings to equip charities to strengthen their fundraising readiness.
Building upon this work, we are now ready to launch the second phase of the Be Fundable project which is specifically designed for charities: our Fundraising Readiness Cohort.
What does it mean to be part of the Fundraising Readiness Cohort?
Being a part of our Fundraising Readiness Cohort is an opportunity for charities to help build benchmarks for fundraising readiness, whilst gaining an in-depth insight into your charity’s fundraising position and bespoke advice on how you can strengthen it.
Launching in November 2025, we will support charities through four stages:
- Launch webinar to run through the audit process and key guidance, with Q&A
- Evidence-based audit, including an online survey based on the evidence gathered from funders on what they are looking for from charities, with support to engage team members across your charity to assess the availability and quality of the charity’s information.
- Bespoke Fundraising Readiness Report, which will give you a fundraising readiness score compared to the benchmark amongst fellow charities, an insight into strengths and areas for development, and guidance on priorities to strengthen your charity’s fundraising readiness.
- Benchmarking insights webinar, with recommendations and Q&A
Together, we will build understanding of the hidden truths of what funders are looking for, unlocking actionable insights for your charity.
Why should we take part?
By joining the Fundraising Readiness Cohort, you will contribute to important sector research that will help to bridge the gaps between charities and funders – and ultimately unlock funding that will make a difference for charities and beneficiaries (including your own).
As a charity, you will gain a tangible, contextualised assessment of your charity’s ability to fundraising readiness, and actionable guidance to strengthen your ability to secure the funding your need to pursue you mission impactfully and sustainably.
It is also an opportunity to meaningfully support for your fundraisers, by demonstrating a charity-wide commitment to understand – and ensuring that they have access to – the information they need to do their job well.
